John Garden is a Musical Director, Composer, and Mixer. He has over 20 years’ experience working in the music industry at all levels, both live and in the studio.

John is currently on tour with Alison Moyet as musical  director, keyboard and guitar player. He previously worked with Alison on her 2002 “Hometime” Tour as keyboards/MD, and the more recent 2013 “the minutes” Tour as keys/guitar/MD. John co-wrote The Rarest Birds and Reassuring Pinches from Alison’s latest album, Other.

From 2004-2010 John was musical director and keyboard player for Scissor Sisters, covering three world tours. He also toured with Marina and the Diamonds as keyboard and guitar player for her 2012 world tour.

John co-wrote the score for Tales of the City the Musical (based on the books of the same name by Armistead Maupin), which premiered at the American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco, in 2011. He is also the composer of various silent film scores which he performs live around the UK.

As well as a busy touring schedule, John makes time each year to work as a producer with emerging artists at his studio in Bedfordshire.

John endorses PRS Guitars, Roland, Dave Smith Instruments, Pigtronix and Elektron products.

Other clients and collaborators include Kesha, Tristan Mackay, Elizabeth Fraser, Cary Grace, BBC Radio 4, Bristol Silents, Burberry and Lego.
